put 572 830hp in 89 mustang after about 20 times geting on it car broke in half while racing literly betwene front and back seat was one heck of a ride front end started up then all went wrong costly adventure

I know this is a really old thread but it used to be very common to put chevy engines in Jeep products. Several companies sold conversion kits for small block chevys.

chevys are so popular to swap beacuse there are so many options becuase chevy made so many variations of the same motor
305,350,400,327, and i think the smaller v-8, what was it, a 282 or something
didnt they all take the same block?
350 crank in a 400 and it will make some high revs

EEEHHH that made me sick seeing the mopar in that camaro. i dont like it. im sure you can make seriouse hp but why do we make hp in the first place. to show you have the best stuff. and taking somone eles brand.... laaaaammmmoooo. that would be badass to see a 528 in a dak lol. saaawweeeeet

Opinions are just that. Opinions. If we all thought the same way, there would only be one car company. Nothing wrong with wanting to do things different as long as it's done correct. I put a built up chevy 283 in a 1964 CJ5 about 1970 and drove it hard for 13 years before selling it. When sold, the engine was just as good as the day I first started it up. Say what you want but those small block chevy engines are a well designed engine just like the 318/360. It's the cars them selfs that are junk. My opinion. I wouldn't put the chevy in the Dakota either simply because there is no advantages over the dodge engines and a lot of extra work on top of it. Plus the extra cost to do the conversion would look better inside the Mopar engine.

now a chevy in a jeep is understandable. people build jeeps so crazy and with so many different parts is expected. i wouldnt mind puting a 383 stroker in my jeep. but id rather have the 4.7 jeep stroker motor that is in the works right now!!
