 Subject: Refrigerant Refilling

(I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota V8 5.2L) I just purchased a bottle of refrigerant with a built in hose & adaptor. It's the right type and everything (verified) but my problem is... where do I hook it up? I saw two possibilities... but
wasn't sure. They were small black covers with
a marking like an uppercase H. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

you have to refill the refrigerant on the high pressure side of the AC system. Of the two service ports, it is the larger one.

whoa..i have to disagree with ya there. I just refilled my 98..you use the LOW port side..the smaller fitting...close to the passenger fender. The fitting that came on your hose with your refill kit will probably only fit this fitting anyways..so that you do not connect to the wrong one. Hope this helps...mike

I think that little refrigerant can might blow attaching it to the high side. R134A ports high and low ports should not be interchangeable tho. I'm not exaclty sure, but I don't think the connector would fit both.. Anyone kno for sure?

Okay guys, thanks for all of the valuable mis-advice. roflol. It was the smaller connector towards the center of the engine. The cap is marked with an uppercase H and a 7
When nobody replied (within my degree of patience) I said scr3w it and just tried my luck. It paid off.
Now onto less cool (bad pun) things like finding
out what the constant high pitched semi-chirp-like
noise is. Maybe a belt? We'll see.

IT WILL EXPLODE!!! Low pressure side, it'll have the smaller fitting and it will be the one that fits. People please be careful when giving out information make damn sure you are right first!

I just purchased one also but i took it back because i found it in my warranty. lol
The guage and hose will only fit one adapter it's the one in the middle of the engine right off of the compressor it IS THE LOW PRESSURE SIDE! just decareful you don't overfill it and be sure to check u\your ambient temperature to see what pressure it should be when full!
