I took off cat. Cat still good, but it did boost power.Lite in dash was on before removal.Lite still comes on . I unhook battery, lite goes out for a while then comes back on after a while.Gives fault codes for back up power lost and o2 sensor. After cat removal at times there is some hesitation upon exceleration, usually the engine is cold.So I replaced the front o2 sensor. I also rewired the wiring harness (Loom?) because some of the wires was pretty burnt. Is the front o2 sensor really needed? Can i wire one into the harness as if it were 2 and get the lite out without hurting power or computer? This Truck Runs Good.No Mods or perf. upgrades just plain old factory. With the exception of Bosch Platinum these Freaken
rock.I want the lite out without buying a simm/cat box.I thought about running a screw driver through the glass in the dash to break the lite , but this would hurt resell value.Ha Ha!

My guess....

You have two Sensors, one is monitoring the upstream of cat, and the other monitors the down stream of the cat. Without the cat they are reading the same thing. Which is causing your problems.

My guess is put the cat back on or get a simm/catbox I guess.

Don't want cat back on if i can help it .The truck runs too good with out it.Just want the lite out and to make sure the engine is going to run rite.I tried wiring 1 sensors into two with success ( I didn't burn the truck to the ground).Although i then rewired it back for 2 sensors because i was afraid of burning the computer up or worse.I then undid the battery to reset the computer. No lite yet ...Does anybody out there know if the cat has to be on to keep the frigging lite off???????

For starters, learn basic english. Will make you much easier to understand. Then, go buy a pipe plug for the rear O2 sensor hole, remove the rear O2 sensor from tailpipe, but leave hooked up to wire harness, use plastic zip ties or something to tie the O2 sensor to the frame rail. This will keep the light from coing on and won't hurt anything.
