I have a 2001 4.7 Quad cab and was wondering if anybody knows about the electical system of the truck/ I have a wig wag unit(Like the police cars) and I have been told that if I put this in the dakota it will fry the electrical system. How do I get around this? I thought maybe it had something to do with the day running lights and the way they are grounded, so I thought maybe I could hook up the fog lights?
Any Idea's

I had a “wig-wag” system on a previous truck and if you follow the wiring instructions there will be no problem. As I recall, the “wig-wag” was wired into the high beams wiring. This allows for your low beams remain on while your high beams alternate the flashing for nighttime responses. During the daytime you only have to hit the switch for the wig wags and they’ll work like a champ. Talk about getting some attention.
One thing you need to look into though. Check your local or state laws regarding running this set up.

yup. i would just spend the 30 bucks and buy a brand new one. or go with hide-a-way strobes thats what i did.
federal and whelen both say everytime you get a newer vehicle to get a new wig wag setup. that happened after all the crown vics were falling out of park with the wig wags on. the systems are redone every year to comply with new trucks and cars.

if you want to check out my strobe setup and my console just click the link.
i have 2 hide-a-ways in the front headlights, 2 blue microthin grill lights, and a pa/airhorn combo.
