i have a 360 short block in a 92 cc, at, with full exhaust and lots of other add-ons. i need heads b/c i think im losing compression. well what would you recommend including an intake. i have the rt cam in it right now also. im pretty sure i want cast heads too, and nothing too radical(i.e. 2.02 1.62).

how about the r/t aluminum heads? it seems like everyone uses cast iron but aluminum will save 50lbs. im just not sure if it would stand up to a supercharger. would it?

There are a few different heads for the Magnum 5.2/5.9L. All Mopar though. Mopar R/T 1.92 intake valve heads, Mopar R/T 1.97 intake valve heads, and Mopar R/T 2.02 intake valve heads All cast iron. Or you coudl get the Mopar aluminum 2.02 valve heads.

Can you explain the differences in the 2.02,1.97, and 1.92. I have a 2000 5.9 Durango and would like some headers. I dont really want to shift the power band too radically as I would still like to tow somedays and then also go and be the street king other days. Which do you think would be best?

joey...if your not gonna get radical on the engine, get the 1.92's. 2.02 os way too big if your dont have a lotta other add-ons on your engine and a cam to compensate. i have the r/t cam, headers, and gear( so do you). i need the right combo though... I've heard the r/t cam, 1.92 heads and m-1 intake will add 46 rear wheel hp...??? i dont know, i need some help here who actually has these heads and can give me some helpful advice.... grrrrrrrrrrr.....

yea i was thinkin about the 1.92's but i also wanted to lighten the front end and this can be done with the aluminum heads. it seems like not many people have experience with these however. lightnings use aluminum heads and they are supercharged so it seems like these heads would be a good choice.... anyone ever used aluminum before??

The aluminum heads are a lot lighter(50lbs total), but also increase the ocmpression ratio(not good for SC'd trucks) and are more prone to warping. The 1.92 R/T heads are nice, but nothing too special. The 1.97 heads are a really good head, kinda middle ground between the 1.92 and 2.02. No matter which set you go with, they almost need a port job done to them, and a cam swap is almost required as well to optimize them. If you're going to change heads, might as wel take the extra step and do the cam as well. I woudl recomend the 1.97 and compatable cam for any n/a application. the 2.02's are really good for SC'd or nitrous guys.
