I have a 98 cc 4x4 5.2 I get a squeak or squeal sound coming from under the hood. Sounds like a bird under my hood. Could this be the idler pulley, or the tensioner pulley? The belt looks ok. I dont think it is the water pump because it only squeals at idle, Once the rps come up it goes away. Anyone ever have this problem??

A length of pipe can be used as a substitute for a mechanics stethoscope to identify which pulley is noisy. Careful around the fan & belt.
