Ok, I know this is an old topic, but I couldn't resist. Truckin magazine did a shootout between the 2 and the Lightning ran a 14.63, and the SS ran a 16.02 in the quarter.
What happened to the SVT's being fast? I thought they were doing 13's stock.

usually these magazine tests don't bother to mention any of the above tho they can slew the times by large percentages.

I remember a magazine not to long ago got a R/T doing a low 16 against a 4.7, what mag was that? Oh, it was one of your own, Mopar now! So yes, R/Ts are slow also! POSs, crap, DOdGeS!

He doesn't even own a set of wheels! He is a 15 year boy who is just being a jerk off plain and simple. I have asked him several times to post a pic of his wheels and then he seems to bugger off for a while. Just ignore him guys he IS NOT worth the trouble.

you have to remember magazines like Truckin' and Sport Truck are so freakin' deep in Chebbies pockets, that they probably got a shiney new nickel and left the gear selector on "2" in the lightning.
cant wait till i get my next month issue of Chebbin', i mean truckin' magazine... hopefully they might cut one of the 82 S10 articles and have one about dodge..

So no 4.7's are breakin 13's all motor yet???? That's sad.
I guess you're right about the factors. But that Chevy is sooooo slow to be called an SS!! That's pathetic. Nice drivetrain though. I wouldn't mind having AWD in my Dak.
F150, your truck is slow. You think slow. You're ugly. Your girlfriend is ugly. And you own a Ford. I hate it for ya. I guess you can keep us company with your infinite Mopar know-how though.
Oh well, I was just hopin my truck could hang with a Lightning.
But, since a SVT weighs 5,000 and mine weighs 4,000 (CC 5 spd 4.7), shouldn't 280 hp and 350 tq bring me right next to a stock lightning? Or maybe even a little quicker?

at the end of the day does it really matter. i
mean Dodge is a all around better truck. you can
not argue that point. and when you look at it the
SS and Lightning are fullsize trucks. the dakota
is not. if you wanna talk about fullsize trucks
lets talk bout the SRT-10.........

Last best I heard N/A was Matt Barrett with a 14.20.

My favorite line from the TRUCKIN' article was the caption to the SS on page 110: "The SS ran a very quick 16.06-second, 86.23 mph quarter mile." I wonder how many Ben Franklins Carl Calvert found in the glove box in a GM envelope?
