 Subject: Wierd Whining Sound

Got a whinig sound on my 02 dakota 4.7l V8. It started this morning and never went away. Sounds almost like a bad Idler pulley or something. I am attributing this to all the rain here in the East these past few days and my habit to drive through puddles. Haven't really had a chance to look at it but it does vary with RPM and is most noticable above 2000 RPM. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar situation.
