Someone please talk to me about performance chips. Have talked to some about them., most talk me out of them and say that it will eventually blow the computer and things. I drive my truck daily for work and don't want to spend a whole lot of funds to keep it running like my Ford! I now have Flowmaster 40's and have noticed an increase in gas mileage and pep, especially at take off and high end. Don't know about others but I have noticed a little hop in the rear end at Highway speeds especially over bumps. Do you think traction bars will help elliminate this even though my rear end isn't posi? Any help would be appreciated. Thankd guys!

Thanks guys for the info. What about jet stage 1. I only have a few mods as of yet. Am considering K& N intake. Jet says stage one will be the best with only few mods. Although I may want to go to stage two. Can get stage one for $240 at this time. Was for a time thinking of a supercharger til I saw the price, don't thik I can afford that! Keep up with the info for I have found some pretty good advice to date!

I had a jet stage 1 and honestly couldnt tell any differnce, I tossed it in favor of a Mopar PCM there is no comparision. Save a little more money and go with the PCM.

Would the Mopar Pcm be better than the power programmer?

I do not know which would be better or if both cover the same years and models, The original poster has a 99 5.2 same as mine. When I changed mine over I was still under factory warranty so I stayed with the Mopar part. At the time i installed the PCM, R/T cam and springs that Dodge was claiming a 40 hp increase if I am not mistaken. ( pcm first, 2 weks later cam and springs.)
