Subject: Check Engine & Rear Diff. Leak
IP: Logged

Message:
Got a '99 R/t with 64K miles.

Several months ago I had to replace my rear differential speed sensor. Now I've got a check engine light and the diagnostic tool shows an error with the "output speed control system". I looked under the truck and am leaking rear diff. fluid. A pool about the size of a deck of cards whenever I stop for about 10 hours. I am guessing that when I replaced the speed sensor, I split the O-ring on the sensor or something - and the fluid has worked its way into the sensor wires - which is why the check engine light is on. Before I dig into this problem, has anyone else had the same symtoms or any suggestions?

On the plus side, the truck has regained some of the power it had lost. Although it now will hang in the 1st to 2nd gear change first thing in the morning.

TIA
