I don't have one...yet might build a turbo set-up instead, but I have been doing research on it for about a year. To see the difference the intercooler makes go to the Procharger web site http://www.procharger.com/ and click on the trans-am/mustang pic to the right of the civc si. Once you do that you can click on the head-to-head comparision to see the difference it makes. By lowering the intake temp by 80 degrees it basicly added 60 horse to the motor over none intercooled set-up. Thier 8lb kit added 58% more power to a NA mild 5.0. Thier dodge truck kits are suppose to add 55%-60% more horse to a stock motor at 8-9lbs of boost thats about 360hp.

On the same page, below the head to head test is thier basic engine spec. page with thier reccomendations. They make thier kits so you don't needed any mods but, I would get a Good set of head gaskets, ARP studs for the head, up-grade the ignition, complete exhaust(headers, cat, muffler), M-1 and a Throttle body to make the kit really shine.. 425+hp.

425+ HP from that kit as you have it configured is a pipe dream. I've seen the new kit on a Ram and ATI needs to go back and rethink that one. Due to the added space limitations, some of the issues I saw(namely the intercooler mount) would be exaggerated.

55-60% HP increase as supplied?? Not a chance.

graphite...paxton only gets the good numbers because of retarded timimg, race fuel and ice
enhanced intercooler. My friend says buy a corvette and get the HP stock. (by the way he put a ATI on his vette and had to upgrade his clutch
and u joints to keep them in the chassis). Dont
worry I love my Dak and told me buddy I would race
him anyday in the mud!!!

hyp - I like the Paxton, but keep in mind I bought the slimmed down "tuner kit" which does not include any fuel or timing components. Just the head unit and brackets, basically. I've done the fuel and timing mods myself from there.

phil - I would assume that's a typo since Paxton doesn't have an I/C for the Dodge. As a true "plug and play" kit for the Dodge, I think either the Paxton or a Vortech is a better choice for the 318/360 at this time. The ATI I saw on the Ram had some serious deficiences and you won't reliably make 425 rwhp with the stock injectors which is what they are attempting to do.

After reading this on the ATI, I'd have to think twice about getting it. I'm not to crazy about the intercooler installed so low to the ground.

http://lonestar.texas.net/~bernd/Steve.htm

I too would go vortech or paxton.

Shane, that truck of Steve's is local to me. The intercooler was torn off the truck twice by road hazards. After the second time he threw it away.

The new ATI kit is no better than that old Golden West kit with respect to the I/C mounting.

Another feature I like about my Paxton is that it runs on its own dedicated 8 rib belt. Eat a blower belt and you can still make it home since it doesn't affect the main drive belt, not to mention the 8 rib with their tensioner setup means no slip.

Sorry, that last post should have been directed to Red.

To answer your question Shane, I'm working with some folks who are releasing PCM programming software to custom flash 5.2, 5.9 and 4.7 powerplants. Part of that program includes new code that specifically helps forced induction apps. So my final tune will be a custom flash, stock MAP replaced with a 2 bar MAP, new broader read O2 sensors and 36# injectors all driven by the new flash. No aux injectors, FMUs or any of the typical band-aid crap.

Well I have the ATI Procharger on my 03 R/T. Aside from the fuel management system which is questionable the charger itself is fantastic.

The intercooler is much different then with Golden West by the way. Still a little low if you lower your truck otherwise it is fine.

Anyone wanting further details just email me.

Eddie as far as prochargers go ati-prochargers are by far the best. A few reasons why they are is that they provide that most posible HP from 60-85%hp gain, while others produce only 30-60hp gain. Also provided whit the most possible boost at 8.5psi. I just put one on my 99 R/T with 100,000miles on it and so far I have had no problems, no engine problems, just put new spark-plugs. The ati-procharger kit comes with everything you need. Plus ati have the best intercooler system that pushes the boost at 107%F, that's driving your truck at peak performance all the time, with no strain on the motor what so ever. The only down fall about the ati-procharger is were they tell you to mount the intercooler. Way to low unless your truck isnt lowered but if it is your going to mount the intercooler a few inches higher to avoid road hazords. Otherwise it's deffinitly worth the money. I bought my kit from A&A corrvette, because he gave me the best price at $3690.00(not polised)$200 extra for polised! The reason I went through his is because my friend got one for his 04' Z06. If you go through PROCHARGER direct you pay about$1500 more because that's there cost, not sure why but I guess that's what some people do because they think that it will be better but PROCHARER is were they produce and make them. People around the world sale they product and the best I found was A&A corrvette, don't waste your time buying one from superchargers4less unless $250 doesnt mean anything to you. I will let you knoe when I dyno my truck in about 2 weeks.

BTW guys, I have a “like new” (less than 3k miles) ATI ProCharger kit for a 4x4 '97-'99 Dakota/Durango for $2300.

I tried selling it a few month back, but the only people interested in it, had RWD RT trucks. This is NOT for that application (intercooler and its plumbing is totally different). So if you have a 4x4 truck and want to make VERY, fast e-mail me at grndsm @ yahoo.com
