 Subject: 4.7L, HEMI interchangable?

Can someone tell me if sometime in the near future,, I can swap out my 4.7L with a 5.7L Hemi Mag? Are the engine mounts in the same place? Are there any seriouse mods I'm gonna need to do?
I'm sure that MANY more people are gonna be asking or have already been asked.

I would like to know the same thing!
In addition, I would like to know if there any differences in mounting-point positions with ANY of the std. Dakota motors. I have a 5.2L, 5spd. and would really like to use a Hemi. Any USEFUL information would be appreciated.

A few things to remember....
1. Even if the motor mounts are in the same place, the engine compartment probably won't be wide enough.
2. Even if the engine compartment is wide enough, you will have to re-wire the entire truck.
3. Even if you feel confident rewiring the whole truck, you're going to need the fuel system that goes with the Hemi, you're going to need the entire computer system that goes with the Hemi, and you're going to have to figure out how to mate up the Hemi's computer with your 4.7 dashboard.
4. Other than that stuff, it is true that the NV-3500 does have the same bolt pattern so that it will fit the Hemi and the 4.7 motor. So, at least you wont' have to worry about custom drilling the bellhousing for the tranny.
So, basically for a quick $10,000 to $15,000 it should just bolt right in. Or you could just go buy a Hemi Ram for a little more, and DC will have all that stuff figured out for you.....

You can buy a crate 348 Hemi that has everything needed for $5-$6K . Would it be worth it? I know a guy that has a 454 Chevette. Yes, a CHEVETTE!

Yes,it would be worth it. If you are buying it to replace the Hemi in the Hemi Ram that you already own.

i say just go for an LS1 vette engine, they make those engines with adjustable mounts to fit any vechicle out there. plus although dodges r the best looking trucks, we all know that chevy has always been the engine king. i mean, dodge came out with the 5.7 hemi like 6 years after the LS1 with the same hp and torque as the LS1 wit the same displacement. im not dissing dodge... i love dodge, but they r a little behind.

Why not just spend $3500 on a 380hp/360ci crate motor from Mopar Performance and run the truck with a carburetor? Then if that's not enough, just run a little 150 shot of juice thru it.
Then you've beat all the computer crap, and you only spent like $4000. Maybe $5000 at most (that's beefing up the tranny, buying the right fuel pump, etc.)

The 4.7 and 5.7 use the same motormounts and have the same bellhousing mounting flange. It is possible.
