I have a stock '02 R/T. What are some of the first mods that you recommend? I am looking for best performance per dollar since money is hard to come by with me...i was already thinking about the K&N FIPK intake and dual 3" 40 series exhaust w/out cats...Any suggestions is much appreciated...Thanks, Josh

I have a 2002 R/T also, unless you intend on racing the truck and doing lots of internal engine mods, I would stay with single exhaust. Most guys on this board will agree that true duals will take away from your low end torque. My first mod would be the FIPK, followed by ported throttle body (Fastman or F&B) and 1.7 roller rockers. A 180 t-stat is popular . You should also consider a PCM flash to advance your timing, but thats anywhere from $350 to $500 since you have an '02 model( the hypertech programmers aren't out for our trucks yet) I used the B&G Chrysler flash but didnt really notice that much of a difference, If I had it to do over I would go with the Kenne Bell flash.

2002 reg cab R/T: FIPK, 50mm TB, Harland Sharp 1.7 RR's, 180 t-stat, Autolite 3923s, MOPAR wires, BorgWarner Cap, Gibson Exhaust, B&G Chrysler PCM flash, no clutch fan, and Yukon 4.56 rear-end gears. Near future: remove pre-cats and port/polish/cut kegger intake runners.

I dont know of anyone who does the 4.7, there are several like Kenne Bell, ASE, KRC Performance, and B&G Chrysler that do 5.9's. You might check with some of those guys and see what your options are.

02 CC R/T here and I have just a few items on my list and one of them if you do some street racing and hard cornering is to drop it about a 3/4. I take turns now at 117 that I could only take at about 85. She really sticks to the road. As far as the exhaust goes I have to agree I have only a 2.5 in 2.5 out delta 40 dumped immeadiatly and I love the sound and get complements all the time on it... Open air intake...be it homebrew or FIPK they all work about the same no matter what anyone says. I have about 80 bucks in mine and that includes a show filter and a driving filter...from Autozone. 180 Robert Shaw T-Stat definate. Throttle body spacer not nessasary but mine was free and it sounds cool. LOL...and I'm sure it helps in that big puzzle of a truck we are all trying to make. Slapper bars help till you lower your truck so far that you stand it on them when you cross a Railroad tracks.... ouch.... and I think thats enough for now.

I dont know what these freaks are telling you, but STICKY tires are a must if you want to go fast.
I pulled a 2.03 60 fts the other night at the track. Had it not been for the crappy RSAs I could have gone 1.90s. Could have gotten me 8s on a stock motor, mopar headers, PCM, 4" pipe from collector to the back bumper, cold air intake and ported TB. Mph was 74ish. 1/8th mile times.
My truck is not lowered, runs the same RSAs from the day it was new and has a heavy tonneau cover on the back. Its also a club cab with all the power options...so you know its heavy. Id say if I had an RC, Id be in the low 14s in the 1/4 or mid to low 8s in the 1/8th.
COmpared them to my 14.6 runs at an NHRA track and the incrementals were the same. MPH was 96ish there.
Both tracks are at sea level.

First Off...Thank you all for replying your suggestions...I only do a little drag racing against the rice burners and fords...i plan to eventually Prerunn my R/T and i am mainly thinking mods that will help my truck get more power, run efficiently, and sound beefy as all hell :)...so lowering isnt really on my agenda...anyone in the SoCal location?
