ey guys so I've had my powerdyne blower on for about 3-4 weeks now. I haven't been to the track yet but I'm very pleased. I was wondering though, it seems if I'm at a stop and I hit the gas just hard enough to hook it seems to hesitate in laying down the power. It's weird, it almost seems like if I'm a little less aggresive on the throttle from a stop it builds boost faster, is this normal? I'm just trying to get the perfect throttle technique going and simply mashing down on the gas to wot after hook-up doesn't seem to be the way to go.

I've had better luck kind of finessing it, haven't paid enough attention to see what my foot is doing in comparison the the rpm's but it seems like my truck moves quickest if I wait till she hits second gear to hit wot.

I'm on the stock pcm, planning on getting the mopar pcm soon so I'm sure the shift-point adjustments will make a big difference especially concerning boost but anyhow feedback anyone? Reason I'm asking is because this morning a RAM w/hemi got a jump on me, only a half car length but I believe if I knew my truck better I would have been past him 50ft into it.

Figit, are you still using the Powerdyne supplied filter? I have heard of guys collapsing the filter with in a few miles. This may not be your problem but replacing it with a larger one has to help. Did you get the FMU straightened out? Also do you happen to know the length of the Serpentine belt? Mine is slipping like crazy and I plan on getting a Goodyear Gatorback to replace it.

hey man, haven't worked out the fmu yet. I was planning on getting a vortech fmu for 140.00, bernd and a few others had said that sometimes the bottom diaphram will tear and leak fuel leading to it running rich. It's more of an annoyance than a problem so I'm just waiting for some spare funds.

Yeah I've heard/read that the supplied filter is too small, I want to get one of the new xtreme k&n filters with the open element top... there pretty hot.

I'm also going to do the map/boost bypass trick but I'm pretty sure it's the fmu. As for the belt yeah I want to get a gatorback too, I picked up scott's 9lb 7 rib pulley.. it came with those instructions to fab up a bracket so that you can also use the stock belt tensioner. Hey I was trying to find the gatorback belts online but no luck, I also went to pepboys and they dont carry them. Where do you plan to get yours?

thanks man,

I found the part number. For the stock 6rib its part # 4061065 you can get them online from www.autozone.com I got mine from APA auto parts because they had them in stock. For the 7rib with tensioner its 4071135. Hope that helps you.

The FMU you got with the Powerdyne is the same as the Vortech FMU.

You also might try the S&B filters at www.intenseperformance.com I had one on my CAI I loved that filter, it ended up being to long fit with the blower, but I am thinking of getting a new one..

I don't have a blower, and you may be above what I'm talking about, but it seems that you transmission (automatic) needs a boost. Maybe your torque converter isn't locking up right away, I would suggest an AT shift kit. If your engine and blower are working well, and the power just isn't getting to the wheels right away, the transmission is what to look at. For 250 hp, it's fine, put a blower on it and the torque converter is out of it's norm. Please ignore me if you think I'm talking out of my ass. I just may be.

ey guys yeah the logic coming from both of you sounds right on. Blackbeauty one "problem" I have now is I'm running the stock pcm, the shift points suck so I assume that along w/ a shift kit would help a ton. Lew thanks a ton for those part numbers, I've had a helluva' time trying to find these belts. Yeah I'm going to wait on the fmu until I've tried the cheaper routes first.

thanks guys,
