Hello all i'm looking for a new transmission for my 1993 V8 dakota. It has had two A-518's in it. it has 340k on it but the motor still runs good. I need to no what all transmissions and what years will fit it other then A-518's?

I will admit Im not an expert on this question but I will offer you this.

You are safe with any V8 auto from 92-94, I think you can use a few years past 96 but I think they have more sensors on em for the OBD2 PCM.
They only had V6's before that (cept for the Shelby) so it would be even a weaker tranny than you had stock.

You guys have to undertsnd a couple of things.
The A518 is basically a TF727 with an elec OD added and is considered one of the best autos out there, I htink they changed a few things that weekened them when it became the A518 but nontheless its a 727.
Dont deal with these cookie cutter auto repair shops, goto a local speedshop and start asking around, find the guys who know what there doing.
The same kid who changes oil at the Speedy Tune and Lube most likely works for your local AAMCO also.

Oh and next trannies you get put a shift improver kit and a good after market tranny cooler on, that ought to keep you in a 518 for a long long time.

Good luck to you both.
