I was wondering if anyone with there R/T's have raced anyone with a new 2003 Silverado SS. It has a 6.0 with all wheel drive. But it is a lot bigger than our trucks. So if anyone has tried it...let us know.

I have seen the specs on both of the trucks, stock vs. stock the SS should win in any straightline race.

The only times for the SS I have seen have put it in the 15's. lots of stock R/T's run that well, and some are in the 14's. Basically a close race and the SS will only require the intelligence of a monkey to drive with an automatic and AWD. The R/T is a little trickier with wheelspin. Good driver I say the R/T wins, especially if it's a regular cab, bad driver probably will go to the SS especially if it's a CC R/T.

Check out www.silveradoss.com/forums these guys talk the most sh!t I have ever heard. Then they feed each others egos like you wouldn't believe. They started out being pissed off that the SS was slow, then as time went on they started accepting the fact that it was a 40k truck that ran mid 15s, "but it has all wheel drive and I can tow" is all they can say, like a reagular truck can't and you need a SS to do that. I got on there with the signature below on a thread they were slamming the Ford Harley, Lightning and R/T and I told them they got ripped as I paid 32K for the Harley and ran a low 14 stock, then with the $600 in mods ran low 13s. They were talking about putting on superchargers and I told them good luck running boost with those high compression heads and not to mention they would still have a hard time beating my n/a R/T and they would be adding 4k to the price of a SS and still be slower than a Lightning. At least with the R/T you start out with a lower price and can end up faster or as fast as a Lightning, with the ss you start out more expensive and slower. Go check it out.
'01 Dakota R/T Club Cab: SS grill, Nitto 450's, Clear Corners, Chrome 5.9 R/T emblems, Aluminum dash accents, TopDeck hard bed cover, Aluminum R/T pedals, M-1 intake, Mopar cold air, F&B Trottle Body, Gibson Headers, B&G custom computer program, Dual out spintech exhaust, Mopar 2400 Stall Converter, Level Ten Shift Kit, Royal Purple synthetics,MSD Wires, Accel coil & rotor, Just installed x-larg Turtle in M-1 intake(11/02). Ran 15.0 when stock(only had 1200 miles) now best time in Phoenix is: 13.97 @ 98mph . Next mod, 4.56 gear set to put me deep in the 13s hopefully, then a 100 shot of N2O just for fun.
'02 Harley Davidson Supercrew, Supercharged 5.4, Diablo chip, 10 lbs of boost, cold air box with K&N filter. Ran 14.4 when stock, now best time is: 13.3 @ 105 mph

well there is one thing good about the R/T's over the SS, The R/T will beat it in top end as mine governs out at 115 and the SS governs out at 108. thats stock vs. stock. but if your going to race who is going to race in stock form??? i'd like to see these trucks built and then run. same mods to each one then lets see what happens.

Hey Guys,
I have a buddy who works at the local Bowtie dealer,and we were both wondering which was faster.Well we lined them up and let go in the country,at about 90 mph I was ahead by 11/2 car lengths.The SS is strong on the bottom ,but seem to fizzle out down the line.All in all a good run.

You Dak owners stick to running jap crap and rangers because the SS out classes you guys big time! Even the v6 S-10s give you guys a good race. dakota= ugly, little, hardly staying together truck!

wait, you guys consider the silverado SS a threat? first off, i dont think theyve even came out yet. then think of it this way, have you ever raced a caddilac truck? would you consider a caddy truck/escalade to be fast? hell no, so tell me whats the diff between the ss and the escalade truck?

the biggest diff. i can see is they are not dodge so who gives a rats ass. we here because we like dodge if we wanted ford, chev.,cad. then we would have bought them, so lets get off the other manufactures and stick to the reason we frequent this site to talk about DODGE im thinking about starting my own site for whinny little beootch kids who want to have the (my truck is better than yours) pissing contest. take out the arguing and this site would be dead so when you post something that could start an argument leave the heading (ARGUMENT:)so the people who have real quality input can express without having to wade through the meriade of crap thanks for reading my rant i feel so alive now i think ill go on a ford or maybe a chev hunt.

hey to you all lil boys.. i own a 96 chevy dropped 4" and 6" just a K&N filter, bosch double platinum and flowmaster dual chamber and camaro tips through side.. and i bet i would beat the crap out of all you dodge freaks... even my fellow SS crappy trucks.. .. I run 14's and thats without slicks... cause i was told in track that my truck would be running low 14 or high 13 with em... so screw all of you lil braggers.. cause im the man. here...........

Screw the Silverado SS, I want to try my hand at the Chevy SSR, aka Clownshoe... They look pretty bad and sport a 290hp V8, but I seem to remember that they weigh more than Dakota R/T.

Basically If you took a r/t and put as much money in to it as the ss cost the r/t will rock it no matter what....(like a nice ass supercharger and reenforced .. everything..lol) like Crusty said 40k vs 40k
