lew,

it's cool to ask, you asked kinda late at night, or you might have gotten some quick replies.

Good luck

I have a 4.7 Quad, but those R/T's DO look nice!

you know if relocating the IAT helps reduce pinging. I have a 98 5.2. It pings alot and I was wondering if this could help? Any other remedies for the ping?

Well, it does richen the mixture a little which would tend to help. But I think it also advances the timing which would tend to not help. I guess the only way to find out is to try it.

chris e, use more octain, if it still continues put in 180 t-stat,

Sonoco ultra 94 will cure it, but 92 will do to.

Relocating more towards the air inlet only
fools the system on staying in cold mode
benefits are more air/fuel slight timing
advance. Acts and feels same as driving
all day on 32 degree wheather pos to 75.
Reads cold stays cold

ay chris your 98 5.2 are you useing any oil i have a 97 dak with a 5.2 and i had big issues with the plenum gasket and it pinged really bad but my oil consumption wasnt to bad and i cracked the #1 piston so i couldnt find a 5.2 that was worth a darn so i did a conversion i dropped a 5.9 i would look into the plenum gasket before you go messing with timeing which i dont think you can change any way

Yes, get a flashlight take off the air hat and look down the TB and check for a pool of oil in the plenum.
