5.2 = in your rear view

I understand that the 318 is favored by more true mopar guys then the 360 is. Similar to the 350 is to Chevy.
I'm a Chevy guy at heart,but man I love my Dakota!

True mopar guys know there's no replacement for displacement. With the older motors you could tell by looking at the left hand motor mount, don't know if this works on the new ones. It might be stamped on the front of the block below the left cylinder head, that's where it was on older 318's and 340's.

Quickest way is to look at the motor mount lugs on the dr. side of the block - they are about 3/8" closer together on a 340/360 than they are on the 318.

I have a 99 dakota 4x4 sport. I have made a few small adjustments to my 5.2 litre K an N airfilter, a microchip and there are not many other trucks that can keep with my dakota whether it be in the mud or in the street. The 318 is one of the most maintenence free and reliable engines i have ever had. I raced a 99 chevy 1500 short bed regular cab on gravel and i took him by a length and a half therefor I say MOPAR supremecy I LOVE MY DODGE...
