To answer the original post, DC decided to save a few pennies on grease fittings only to spend many dollars replacing failed suspension components under warranty. Don't you just love bean counters?

Bean counter suck!
ALl they know is cut cut cut......they are the worst possible example of what is wrong with american business today.
Let them count the beans and let those with drive, determination, and flair for growth run a company.
Look what happened to Chrysler in the 70's. It was run by one Lynn Townsend, a true bean counter who knew little about how to make and sell cars.

Yeah, those older cars had a terrible reputation for front end parts, they actually broke the zerks off at the factory after greasing to push extended service intervals as a sales feature !
