Would like to know what mod's I can do to my 1991 Dakota 4x4, auto, 318? Comp chip, plugs, ect.. Don't want to spend a fortune, but would like to get a nice gain. I just put dual cat back on it. Tried an KN airfilter, but it seemed to lose power in highway speeds.maybe its taking in more air than it can release? Would a new highflow cat help? Any help would be appreciated a lot!! thx's!!! Heres is what i would recomend doing. Try to find a Throttle body off of a 360 any year will work up to 93. Take the injectors off of the 318 TB as well as all the sensors and put them on the 360 TB. this will increase your throttle response greatly. Also take and remove the plastic plate from the front of the intake tube down next to the right side of the radiator and put a piece of screen in it to keep bugs out. This will make it act kind of like a cold air intake/Ram air this will also help a little. Also you will probably want the K&N drop in filter back on your truck. Another thing you can do is get a set of hooker headers but i am not sure if the ones they have will work for 4 wheel drive. you might be able to have a set cutom built if there is a b\place in your area.
You might also want to think about a baby cam Check out hughesengines.com You could also check crane cams. Roller rockers will also help. If you want you could get the heads ported and polished.

If i were you i would fist start with headers and go from there because if you can get it in you have to get it out. If you cant get it out then enything you do to the intake side wont help much.
It does help that you have some of you exhaust done already so if you cant find headers you should be fine. If you dont have emisions in your area you could if you wanted remove the cat or put a high flow in it if you want.
Good luck and keep us updated
