 Subject: '03 R/T tranny question

My '03 R/T is at the dealer right now because when the trans shifts into third gear, the lock-up converter within two seconds decides to kick in and then I have to wait for the rpm's to climb again and then it shifts into fourth. The dealer called me tonight and said this is a problem that all the new R/T's are having and I will have to wait for Dodge to come out with a "FLASH" for the computer. Does anyone know about this problem or is the dealer pulling a fast one because they don't know how to fix it?

he dosnt know how to fix it ,cause hes probably like you waiting for dodge to issue a patch for the E-prom.
MY 2000 did it as well, is only a 3.9. there was an update ready for my PCM when it was taken in for some other work. works fine now.
as machines become more intergrated with electronics these things well happen more often.
but to cover your ass get it in writing from the dude

I have the same problem with my 02 rt. Dosnt really bother me in normal driving but it drives me nuts when Im racing. It happens at full throtle too. Im guessing its a half a second slower than it should be in the 1/4. Last I checked there wasnt a fix for the 02s. Not sure if the 03 has the same pcm
