What is the deal with tire size. The bigger the tire the lower the gas mileage? I have 31's oe on my 98 dak 4x4 and am looking to replace them soon. Any suggestions ?

The bigger they are the more gas you burn. It's just the way it goes. I went down about 1-2 miles a gallon when I put new tires on my truck. I didn't go much bigger only to 31x10.5 but I love the way the handle the road and trail.
