Anyone have a 4.7 with a throttle body spacer on it? I have a Poweraid TB Spacer on order and should be here in a week or so. Just wondering if anyone has any history with one that you could share. Increase in mpg? power? response? I'll let you know how mine makes out when I get it>!

There is no dyno spec sheet to show they do anything (4.7) if they did there would be a page in here, these work with carburators to help even out and better mix the fuel/air intake, being the 4.7 is injected directly in the cylinder there is no mixing nessesary.Air only! If you can return it, you could have the money better spent elsewhere, they sell them for the 4.7 because they can,,thats biz!

Cory, send it back, dont open pkg just refuse shipment and have it sent back, this will save you from paying shipping cost again, when they get it back they will refund you, make sure you call them and let them know.. The spacer does ZIP for any engine. waste O money. buy a Airaid cold air intake for 160.00 this works. along with the Jet module stage II Not a stage I,is weak.

Have any of you actually run one on the 4.7?? I have. And it's still on there for a reason. It works, plain and simple. It does not work on the 3.9/5.2/5.9 motors due to the different intake design. It is most noticeable in part throttle acceleration, like around town, and yes, my mpg did go up a bit. Is it worth the $90?? Imo, yes. You won't feel it during wide open throttle, but you will cruising around town.

It won't show gains on the dyno, like I said earlier, you feel it during part throttle cruising, like driving around town, not during WOT.I was even told that. I spend more time around town than on the strip, so WOT doesen't mean as much to me (well, it does, but you know :) )I was having a weird prob with the truck last year, so I took it off when it went to the dealer, and you know what? My throttle response wasn't as great, and I had to step down on the go pedal a little more than usual. All I say is this. I only put things on that work. I've been around motors all my life. Try it. If you don't like it, you can always return it and get your money back. BUT, I betchya lunch that you'll like it.......... The only thing that annoys most people about it is that it has a slight whistling sound when you get on it a little bit. Doesen't bother me a bit, kinda sounds like a mini s/c or turbo.

UM HELP! OK, I went to install the TB spacer and found that my throttle and cruise cable are too short, they hold the throttle open aby about 1/2". How do I extend the cables or modify the bracket? Do they sell a mod bracket? Ed how did you do yours?

Cory, your kit should have came with 5-6 aluminum extensions and screws that move the throttle bracketry forward the same distance as TB spacer thickness. If you are not using the factory airhat, you will have a couple left as they help relocate that foward also. Good-luck!

OK, it's installed. The part came with the necessay spacers, and with some slight bending of the throttle cable bracket it went in very smooth. So far the the results have been a definite increase in throttle response while at cruising speeds. between 2500-3500 rpm it has GREAT response. The only noise is a slight whistle when the throttle is just cracked open. full close or open more and no noise what so ever. For $57 I am very pleased!!!

Duncan, I actually got it through an Ebay auction from an off-road accessories warehouse in Minnesota. Here is the URL for the company
www.burnsvilleoffroad.com
The price on the box from them was tagged $119.99, so $57.00 I got a great deal.

Hey cory, glad it worked out for ya, my suggestions for your next moves are a Volant cold air intake and a stage II jet chip, i made these additions to my 4.7, and it took me from mid 15's to mid to high 14's in the quarter.

good luck

I already have a cold air intake made by 360 intakez, and the stage II jet chip will have to wait until i get my dual exhaust on, since the real benefit won't be seen until that is on. You can't take in more air than you can exhaust, so my 4.7 still isn't ready to breathe easy!

TB spacer doesn't do anything, but it makes a nifty whistling noise. What kind of exhaust are you going to have Cory? If you can find a shop that does good quality work, go with true duals (2.25"-2.5" maximum diameter piping). If your state/county has strict emmisions laws, buy two high flowing cats and then whatever mufflers you want to run. I just run the mufflers and not the high flow cats on my truck (relatively lax emmisions in Gwinnett Co, GA). Definitely provided me with some good HP gains (along with my other mods).
