Subject: Got a Question about the 5.9's
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm looking to buy a 1998 Dodge Dakota, i want one with the 5.9 L engine, but i want it with 4 Wheel Drive, does the 5.9 L come with the sport club cab 4x4? all i have seen so far with the 5.9 is the R/T's and those are only 4x2.

Also, When i get my dakota i want to put a dual exhaust on it, but i dont know which kind are good for a dodge dakota, what brand would be best for it? i've never even looked at putting a dual exhaust on a truck till i saw a guy with one on his 99 dakota the other day. i dont want something too loud, but i want it to sound good.

I'm also thinking of putting a lift on the dakota, what are the most common lift types used? 2" body lift and 4" Suspension lift? what brand of body lift will be a good quality one? I am thinking that i will definately want SkyJacker for the suspension lift. if i were to have the 2" body lift and the 4" suspension lift, and i put BFG AT 33" tires on the Truck, would they rub on the inside? I think i heard that there are certain types of rims that will extend your tires out away from your vehicle(the aluminum alloy ones)

and last of all, What type of Super/Performance Chip works best with the Dakotas?

thanks, any feedback would be greatly appreciated

The only way to get a 5.9 in a Dakota 4x4 is to get a 2000 and up Quad Cab. You can get a 318 in 97-99 and a 4.7 in 2000 and up Club Cabs and Regular Cabs.

As for exhaust, I really like the MBRP exhaust on my '02. My second choice would be Flowmaster and my third choice would be Gibson.
