 Subject: head lights

I have a 93 Dakota, V-8, after driving about 13-14 miles on brights the headlights will suddenly go off for a second or two, it will continusely do this. If I drive on dims they are fine unless I switch to brights at which time after a couples miles they start going out again and if I then go to dims they are fine. Any ideas?

The head light switch has a sort of built in circut breaker. Sounds like it is kicking in. I would try a switch first.
