Subject: Towing with a big cam

I am curious who here uses their truck for mild towing (a couple four-wheelers or jet skis) and has a larger cam. I want to build a Blown 408 Setup, like the Kenny Bridges rig under customer rides on www.krcperformance.com, to put in my Ram SS/T! It has a 220 cam but I'm not sure how that would be for mild towing. Any input would be nice.

if you mean blown as in turbo charger don't do it, you will burn out your turbo, garrantee it. Ford Dodge and Pontiac and Buick have all stated it their respective owners manuals that towing with a turbo charge vehicles is NOT RECOMMENDED.

can't tow with a turbo!? ... uh oh, someone better tell the diesel crowd before they do something stupid ..

Just make sure you're not in boost all the time, cause you might burn out your S/C

Yeah, I guess all those diesels must not be up on the "don't tow with a turbo thing!". S/C's make boost at idle and throughout the powerband so they are obviuosly always under boost. I have 3.93 and LSD. My only concern was the high duration cam having to high of a powerband. But being a stroker and having a blower should create plenty of low end torque.

Thanks CW!
