hey I was just wanting some input on what I should do to my truck now. It's a '02 R/T with 1600 miles on it I have a 40 series flowmaster and i engineered a "home brew" air intake. i was just wondering what everyone thought about the m1 intake, a new tb, removing 3rd cat, headers, hypertech power programmer, or a set of 1.7:1 roller rocker arms. what kind of power can i expect from these mods. Is the m1 a good choice over the "beer barrel" intake since the loss of low-end torque. any input would be great.

Dont do headers they are a pain with blowing gaskets take your stock manifolds and get them machined

ugghhh ya the M1 is a good choice. I've heard that it can pick up as much as 30 hp, but you might loose a little low end. If getting the M1 I suggest getting a extra large turtle(supposed to help with lost low end). I have no idea where it goes or what it does just what I've heard. Okay...go with the M-1 and add a converter (torque converter that is). This will raise the stall speed of you truck and take full advantage of the powerband of the M-1. You may also want to consider a custom flash for you computer to really help with the M-1.

I have a 92 5.2 w/A-518 transmission in a regular cab Dakota. This truck has over 100,000 miles and, with minimal mods, I ran a best of 9.39 in the 1/8th mile.

I added the M-1, JBA Headers, Mopar Convertor, 1.7 Roller Rockers, and 19lb FMS injectors (stage II), and took it to the track without any real tweaking and right off the trailer I ran a 9.09. That's still with the stock throttle body too.

I lowered my 60ft times from a 2.12 to a 2.01, so as you can see it takes a "mixture" of parts to gain the full potential of all the modifications.

So over the winter I'll have some of my own testing and tuning going on, 'cause I still think I may have a possible "high" 8 second pass in the truck. If I can accomplish this...then I'll be happy.
