Subject: Dyno Numbers For My 4.7
IP: Logged

Message:
A bunch of us went to the dyno today. I took my 4x4. I was pretty pleased with the numbers:

196 peak horsepower at 4000 rpm
270 peak torque at 3200 rpm

Not bad for a pretty much stock 4x4 with these mods: Airaid, MBRP single catback, 180 t-stat, and Redline tranny and rear end fluid.

Not bad! There's a dyno sheet on my web site for the mods listed in my sig. I'd like to know if you feel like the MBRP helped or hurt your power/torque. I'd also love for someone with an MBRP setup on a 4.7 to post some good quality sound clips and talk about noise - I've heard good things about them, but I don't want anything thats just *way* loud. Do you get any resonance in the cab from it?

I would say that the MBRP helped power and torque. I had it installed the day after I got my truck so I don't have a good before/after on it. There is no resonance in the cab. I like it. I wish they made a system for my Gen II truck.

Bill, definitely a good day huh?

My 4.7 managed:

229.4 Peak HP @ 4400 RPM
301.7 Peak Torque @ 3600 RPM.

Not bad for under $1000 into the engine so far!!! So far I have a 2000 CC, 75k miles, HO cams, HO intake, bored 68mm TB, K&N air cleaner, Bosch +4 plugs, short belt, and a Gibson Catback.

Bill & Chris,

Good numbers all around. I still haven't had the chance to dyno my truck after the HO Cam/Intake install and the IAT adjuster (although now it won't make too much difference with the weather colder and all). True dual, K&N drop in, and modified TB netted me 208 RWHP and just under 270 RWTQ. The HO Cams/Intake DEFINITELY made a noticable difference after they went in (as did the IAT adjuster). I'm hoping that with my exhaust mods the output from the HO Cams/Intake will be a bit higher. Next up, porting/polishing the heads!

K&N Drop in AF
True Dual exhaust and removed third cat
HO Cams & HO Intake
Modified TB
Autolite 3923 Plugs
TPS @ .76 VDC
IAT Adjuster Mod

10.5:1 carbed 360 in a 81 1/2 ton. Should be good for 400HP have been thinking about a 125 shot of nitrous on top of that. The 3.91s with a 3000 stall should make it come off the line pretty hard.

Although that might get sidelined as I just picked up a turbo for really cheap and it might just work on the dak. So I may have a another project on the go later. So many projects so little money.

Will probably do the old one first because I have 80% of the parts already. About the only thing I am missing is the basic short block and the convertor.

Ya'll need to seriously stop spoofing me. This is getting pretty silly. Just let me post my stuff and go spoof somebody else.......

However, those actually are nice numbers. Mine dyno'd at 233hp and 301tq.

Here's the mods:
