Subject: Need help with oil gauge!!

I bought my truck used with 23,000 miles on it is a 4.7L 4x4 auto dak quad cab. When I buy a vehicle, I usully do all the maintenace even if it looks like they already did. This is so I can have a reference on scheduling and also because I don't know what treatment it had before.Anyways, when I changed the oil, I put 20w-50 because here in summer, temps are always above 100F. The temp gauge would always be constant close to the left marker I would guess about 80. Now that winter is coming and also time for oil change, I put 10w-40. Now when I do heavy city driving the oil gauge neddle goes all the way right before the middle mark at idle only. Can anybody tell me if there is anything wrong with my truck? I would appreciate any help!

If your between the lines dont worry about it. under throttle it should be high, at idle it should be on the left

my 01 QC 4.7, runs near the top even on idle, I use 10W-30 mobil 1. Houston TX.

I don't agree with that heavy an oil in a newer engine designed for a lower weight.

Just my 1.02 cents.
