Yes!!!!!!! Engineers should have to intern as Tech.'s before they are allowed to design anything for a car. I agree that 5W30 is basicly 3in1 oil!!!! The only part of the engine clearanced for 5w30 is the oil pump. The rest of the engine is clearanced like all of the other Dodge truck engines. The mains and rod bearings are just as happy with 15w50 as with 5w30. It seems all of the manufactures are recommended 5w30. I guess they want to sell us an engine or new vechile a little sooner.

I just change oil on my 2001 dakota 4.7 with 113,442 miles I used valvaline 10-40 synthetic blend and fram ults tough filter, ,very easy to do,i just bought truck with 112,789, now oil pressure went way up,i sighned up with valvaline for 225,000 engine warrenty, the truck runs smooth,also put ZMAX tranny additive,ect cab sport , black, normal fender rust ,also gunked oil with new engine gunk worked good,painted over rust, and painted frame with rust couting,looks better, im hopeing for good service out of this truck,
