I've been having fits trying to solve my problems with my truck.

I recently put an M-1 and a few other mods on the truck, and when I first started the truck (after finishing the M-1 install), it threw a code. I finally read the code last night, and it was 22: coolant temperature sensor input is either to high or to low.

Right now my truck will start great, idle great, but after a few minutes of idling, it will surge idle a few times and die. Then I hit the key and it starts right back up, and everything seems alright.

I had an aftermarket throttle body on it, but now I switched back to the stock one...same results. I've reset the computer...same results. Changed the pulgs...same result. See a pattern?

Could a temperature sensor affect the idle after it sets and idles for a while? Would (or could) it go to rich or to lean and die?

I'm running out of things to check, and my patience is wearing thin.

What year of truck? The earlier models had 2 sensors near the thermostat housing one with one wire, (that is for the gauge) and one with 2 wires, (that is for the computer). Check the wires and connector on the sensor with 2 wires going to it. Sounds like it is grounded or not making contact.

It's a '92 with the 2 sensors. Looking at the engine from the grille...it's the one on the left or right of the thermostat housing?

When it is in the stock manifold it is closer to the thermostat. Like I say the defining thing is the fact that the sensor your concered with will have two wires going to it not one.

2000 4.7 engine surge

I have a 2000 Dakota sport that has developed a curious problem. When I drive down a bumpy road the engine will race to around 3000 rpms. I can't seem to find any information on this. Any ideas?
