I need some general information about axle fluid for 00 DAK 4x4. Hubby needs to change fluid and local dealer is being stingy with info. Need to know what type of fluid to use and what the fill levels are. Owners manual only gives specs for 8 1/4 axle. He has the 9 1/4 axle and all the towing packages. any help would be appreciated

i have the 5.9 quad 2001....i am not messing with the front fluid...since it doesnt work as much as rear axle.....meaning i dont use 4 wd much....but i am using redline 80-140 synthetic,in the rear, ...and i am not changing it again.
