I was wondering if any one has this installed on there 5.2. I want to get dual outlet threw the roll pan...either the holley rollie or the the proglass...but can;t decide on a muffler. My buddy used to have a 40 series dual on his 86 mustang 5.0 sounded bad ass, just wondering about the sound on the 5.2 Dak

I will let you know on Monday I am having it put on my 5.2. I heard it on one the other day that was sweet but i think he had some real mods under the hood. So look for me Monday night because if things go right with having it done then it will all be installed by then

I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

Curt, I have a 40 series flowmaster on my 99 dakota with a 5.2...only mods under the hood are a K&N filter charger...I used to own a 83 Chevy with a 5.7, and to be honest...My dakota is twice as deep and twice as loud...sounds very similar to the 5.9. I know you said something about running it though some type of rollpan, if this is true, more power to you...I on the other hand when installed had the guy install the 40 series directly right after the cat. converter, with it down-tipped to the ground...you will definitely set every car alarm off when cruising by it...but if you dont mind...let it flow..and im out

I was thinking of going with true duals, 2 40 series flow masters or an MBRP catback system. Everyone has telling me to just go with the catback system. My bro is going to GIVIE me 2 40 series flow masters off of his 69 Cuda. He is getting complaints about it and has decided to quite the beast down. Also lol he thinks he is going deaf just cruising in it. He has PPH headers with 3" inch piping and 2 40 series flow masters.

I used to have a 99 5.2 4X4 with one cat. I put a high-flow cat on into a single in/dual out series 40 with duals out the back. Couldnt have imagined it to sound better. I got an 02 R/T and removed my third cat and put a 40 series on that also. The 318 was much louder but i love the sound of both of them. If you are looking for a lot of noise and deep interior noise then this is your muffler. Definitely a head turner/alarm setter offer (is that a phrase?) LOL

02 R/T RC Graphite.....Removed 3rd Cat, Flowmaster Series 40 dumped, 1.7 Comp Cams Roller Rockers

I love the 40 series single on a 5.9, it's fun to play with a loud Harley from behind on the freeway in the left lane with a concrete median. I would goose it ... he would goose it... then I would goose it. And when you’re on it under an overpass you shake every body’s windows! I only do that when I see rice with a fartcan. Can you say "Ground Shaker"?

I put a ravin performance exhaust on my 99 dakota. It fit perfectly, cleared my spare tire, trailer hitch and dumps out the back. It sounds really nice. I got many people who hear my truck to go and buy one. Its heavy duty, sounds better than a flowmaster and has much more cfm not to mention one hell of a tone.
