Is it really worth buying the HO Intake manifold for the 4.7? I am thinking about getting that and the cams. I have read what the cams produce and can justify the performance for the money, but I'm not sure about the Intake. Let me know your opinions. Thanks.

If you want to wait about 2 weeks I'll be able to tell you. I'm installing the cams next weekend, then I'm going to test them with t a G-Tech, then install the manifold and re-test .. I'll try my best to keep everything constant (temp, elevation, amount of gas, ppl riding with me, launches etc. etc.). I'll see what it does to the 'Gtech hp' and the 'gtech 1/4 mile / 0-60' ... I know I know, it's a G-Tech so don't bet your house on it being that accurate, but at least its something.

My guess ... the manifold will lower the ET, raise the mph, raise the hp, and maybe hurt the 0-60 .. but that's just a guess. a lot of people report that it pulls much stronger in the upper RPMs, and that I believe.

I think the intake is dabateable. As far as I know I am the only, or one of, person to do the cams and intake seperately. Here is a summary of what I found:

Cams First: Holy S&*T this thing moves. Mileage up, low end VERY strong, top end about the same but now gets there faster due to the lower end increases.

Intake: Helped it rev a bit, moved the power band back up some where the cams moved it down... mileage down a bit, maybe it is that i am always in it.. not sure... Overall I think both are worth it but you do not get teh kick from the intake that you get with the cams...

Thanks for the replies.

Canucker:

I'll be looking for the results that you find.

Chris:

I have a feeling that I would do that cams first also. Seeing that I have heard better results from those.

Thanks again.
