Pretty sure it won't fit. When I get money ahead I am going to have one built. The guy around here can build one for not that much and he is very good.

I think some of the big muffler companies make universal Y-pipes .. I'm sure I saw them on their websites. You just spec the in and out diameters you need. check flowmaster's website and some other ones under accessories.

I think he means from the manifolds to the part where it Ys into one. The whole Y-pipe not just the connector. Flowmaster and I think it is magnaflow makes the connectors. My muffler guy can make them for $30 Cnd. I can't beat that.

Hey CW, when you have your muffler guy make you a new y-pipe (from headers back) let me know how it goes. If you dont mind i'd like to purchase one from you. I've tried every shop in the area, and they wont touch it. Probably cause they just see me as a punk kid or something. :(
We dont have emissions testing here in north Idaho, so i can get away with removing all three cats. Which i've had planned for a while, but still havent gotten around to it. I'd like to just do it all in one replacement, from headers to muffler. I could probably do from the cat back on my own (its just a straight pipe). Anyways, let me know how if you get it done, and if you wouldnt mind setting something up. Thanks a million man.

correct me if i'm wrong.. i dont think i am though

the 2000's dont have precats.. so why, if you have a 2001+, couldn't you swap out for a MY 2000 y-pipe? i'm sure an aftermarket one would flow better, but just by going to a 3" cat back you lose enough back pressure to lose low end torque, so why go to an even bigger y-pipe? (unless you're gonna get blown)

well i have a 3" single into 2 1/2 " dual.i am definitely not lacking for torque.yeah i have only one cat, but, have you seen it?(the y pipe)it is 2 1/4" diameter.my muffler guy would do a 2 1/2 from each header and combine them at the cat, more like true duals.i have nitrous, and whether i did or not ,the straw size factory y is not good enough.

I wanted to get rid of the 2" primarys, go to 2 1/4" and all the extra bends.

Glen C: I can see all kinds of problems trying to do that as mine is a standard to start with. If I ever get organized enouph to do it, I will take measurments and pics.

Oh, yeah, i completely for got about that. Duh. I have to stop by the dealer before work, maybe they can get me a price (if possible) on the earlier 2000 model y-pipes. Maybe me and the parts guy can figure out if there is much difference between the 2001 with precats, and a 2000 with out.

It will bolt in but you should know that you have to buy the cat with it making it more expensive. Much cheaper to get a custom system done.

CW it almost makes no sense that dodge wouldn't sell the Y-pipe without the cat. i know that when you have a cat go out they dont give you another y-pipe with it. so it has to be possible (depending on who you talk to) to get the y-pipe by itself. LAME

I know but I have replaced many of the newer cats and any of the modles that have the cat near to the y pipe it is all one piece. My '97 had the cat further back so it could have the Y-pipe ordered separatly. I have gotten pretty good at changing them. Just a little over a half hour in and out the door.
