With all due respect guys, there are a lot of wrong answers in this thread > Most likely at least some of you will not believe what I say but here it goes > Starting with the pan gaskey in the intake > The answer is yes > If there is a thin oil film or a greater amount you need to replace the gasket > Replace the PCV valve while your at it > #2 > This also causes pimging but other things can cause that to if your gasket is ok > #3 You never burn gas in your intake UNLESS you have a burnt or bent stuck intake valve > In either case the motor would backfire through the TB up into the breather > #3 Better spark is always an ok deal but if you are getting NORMAL spark with the NORMAL ignition parts the gas will burn just as well as with more spark BUT > More spark is good with S/C or turbo or heavy mods to help prevent cavatation from the heavy volumn of air/fuel rushing in > #4 > Just because you can see through your cat with front pipe disconnected DOES NOT mean for sure it is ok > Black or white inside > But to disconnect is the right idea for starters > After it is free from the engine headers DRIVE the truck > If you reaLy do have a cat problem your truck wll come alive > #5 >MOST OF THE TIME Missing cold engines have leaking spark plug wires cracked distributer cap or carbin tracks in the dist. cap or top of coil > If there erase them with a pencel > This isn't every possible answer but it is the ones you will have most of the time > Really poor fuel millage if not the cat , next best posibility is O2 censer new or not > Merry Christmas to all >

So many problems > So little time
