Subject: Mopar cat back question
IP: Logged

Message:
I am looking at buying the Mopar cat back system. I have a 97 5.2 2wd auto, the oxygen sensor is behind the cat. Does anybody know if the Mopar kit has a fitting built in. The literature doesn’t say.

The muffler slips on the pipe after the O2 sensor so no worries there.

The instructions for the Mopar Cat-Back system say to cut the exhaust pipe 6" behind the 2nd O2 sensor. It comes with a connector that goes from the factory 2.5" pipe to the 3" size on the new parts.

Thanks Duner & CW, I guess its time to break out the plastic. If I decide to go with the Mopar headers and A free flow cat too I will have to have that section made with a fitting for the sensor?

Nothing to it. Most speed shops and all muffler shops will have the bungs for an O2 sensor. If not they will just cut the one out of your original pipe and use it.

I'm curious, will most muffler shops install a catback system for you, or do they just install mufflers?? I have doubts about my ability to install a catback. Thanks.

All muffler shops will install cat backs.

I got several bids between $75 to $100 to take off my old system and weld on the new one.
