BERND, you seem to be the performance guru around here so I present you this:

I have a 2000 RT with K&N GenII kit, Jet Stage I, Accel coil and MSD 6A, running Mobil 1 and Autolite 3923's.

What is my next performance add on? Headers or TB? Granted I am still under warranty but I guess with all the stuff I have done, that might be out the window.

I was thinking of a 52mm TB. Keep in mind I dont drag my truck. I just drive it normally and get on it when I need a rush (usually every day). Will a TB give me more low end grunt or is it all up top? I also thought about 1.7 rollers but that might wait until 36k miles.

Could you tell me if adding the msd did anything to help the performance of your truck? Any way I installed jba headers on mine and there is a noticable amount of gain from 2000 to 4000 rpm range. Not alot but noticable. The thing I like the most about the headers is that the engine vibrates a lot less with the headers, revs very smooth. Thats my 2 cents. Also my TB added off the line punch but seems to run out of breath at higher rpms.

I put in an MSD and felt the difference. I also got 1-2 more MPG

Guys, the MSD did not help my mileage only my idle which is still not that smooth and I run the Autolites with 89 octane.

Basically, I am looking for my next "low buck" upgrade abd thought about a new TB. I just wonder if new heads and a cam will be needed to take advantage of a new TB.

What do you think Bernd?

I'm here...just catching up on emails. ;)

I've run MSD products since 1986 and will swear by them. Normally, you'll notice a better idle quality and (in most cases) some increase in fuel economy...unless you use the accelerator pedal as an "On/Off" switch.
