From now on I wont... One of my best friends ran my bebe into a damn pole the other night! said he didnt see it. He drives a nissan maxima with no balls, automatic to boot. I guess the V8 and man. tranny combined with poor visabillity and lack of experience driving trucks got the best of him. Wish I had a picture of it, its just behind the cab, on the bed. He said he would take full responsability for it and pay what ever it cost to fix.
Sure is embarrassing driving around with a huge dent in the side of my truck....

Depends on which friend. The one who drives propane trucks during the week and works on his hotrod on the weekend can drive it. The one who drives a beat up Geo Metro is another story.

I've let a few of my friends drive my truck...... but with me riding shotgun.
My wife has driven my truck on a few occasions but is scared of it now. Her version of the story is that the steering doesn't work well enough to keep it in one lane if she floors it! hahahaha That has got to be the goofiest explanation I have ever heard!

Actually, RWD torque steer can happen. But it's so rare to have a powerful enough vehicle to notice. I wish I had gotten footage of the 6.0 second Camero that tried to point itself towards the starter when it launched. The frame on that thing twisted to the point where the left front tire was about 2 and a half feet off the ground, and going down the track it barked some fat slicks. I have FNI what he was running, and what class he was running in, but man was it impressive.

No way, no friends. My sweetie can drive it (he has his own dak, I've driven it) and my mechanic can drive it, and once in a while my sister and hubby, but only when I'm in it too.

I've let my parents use my R/T for a week at a time when they were moving, they used it to move all the contents of their 2500 sq ft home! They only were going 2 blocks mind you. They also have borrowed it from time to time pick up big stuff they buy. They have a new Bug and a Focus so it pretty much sucks on my end of the swap except I always get a full tank at the end! Then again I doubt my step dad ever even gets on it. If anything ever happened I'm positive he would make it right. Now if a old navy buddy wanted to use it for a trip to the store then no way! My brother has swapped cars too but he has a WRX so I don't mind that as much!

My wife drives a standard xmission better than most folks. (She drove a garbage-truck many years ago) My 20 year old daughter has also borrowed my Dak a few times too.
My only suggestion to them is to NOT get in a position that they have to back up. My Dak has a cap on it and the outside mirrors are the ONLY way to see in reverse.
I do have to repeat here that my DEALER dropped their giant overhead door on my Dak within 1 month of being new. Roof of cab was dented and they replaced windshield too.

My wife sneaks toward mine every now and then, but complains it wasn't designed for people 4'10".
I like it cause it was built for people 6'+ like me.
Other than the boss (wife) nobody better lay a finger on my Dakota.

As someone said before, depends on who's driving, and in which conditions.
I know all sorts of people, most are exceptionally competant in some special situations, but asses in others. I've loaned out (traded, usually for theirs) my motorcycle, BMW, truck, tools, cameras, and boat, but ONLY in restricted conditions and only to those I know can handle it, and who will respect the material.

Well, my parents paid half for my truck, so I suppose they can drive it, and my brother can drive it when im riding shotty. I let one of my friends move it once lol (about 25 feet) But I think that is the farthest I'd let someome take it

I don't even like to let my mechanic drive mine, he used to build V8 Datsun Trucks. He's Crazy!!!! He drove my truck the first time after he put the motor in, we drove 12 miles to the gas station in 5 minutes. That comes out to averaging a little over 120mph the whole way.

The wife drove BeeKota once and only ONCE,It's in her name so all the mods I do to it is for my wife!
When she say's Honey do you love me?I say Hell yes didn't i put a set of HO cams and Headers on the truck for you and for her Birthday she will get high flow Cats and a new cross over pipe.

Since my mom is on the lean, and therefore the insurance and title, she drives it once in a while -- she does ask. Although, now that it's lowered I doubt she will drive it anymore, hahaha.

yeah I know, well it was just her in the truck, I was at home sleeping. I'm also glad I had it lowered, cause I figure that if I didn't the truck would have gotten slung over the barrier completely and she would have taken it into the 40foot deep revene.

I let my mom drive mine to work as she doesn't have a car of her own, and I used to let my ex drive it sometimes, but she never put gas in it. Notice how she is the "ex". Other than that no one has really touched my baby.

Yes, just my close friends and only if I'm riding shotgun. What can I say, I learned about sharing at an early age! Plus, it's fun to see other people actually enjoy driving again IYKWIM. ;-)
