I Have a 99 4*4 5.2 RC, we were out fishing and we had to go through a couple of fairly large puddles to get to my fishing hole and I think i got a little to much water on the distributor cap because it died about half way through. I might be wrong but shouldn't the caps be somewhat water proof. The water was only about a 1 1/2" deep. so i am guessing that a little water splashed up and caused it to short out. after about 20 min i got it to fire up but what a pain in my ass. The 4 wheel drive worked great but the water was a real hassle. should i be looking for a cracked cap or another problem?
Has anyone had a similar problem with moisture in the cap?

The closest I had to that problem was a little hesitation after a long day of off-roading and going through a lot of puddles. I had a friend with a Jeep do the same thing last time I went out. He had to take off his distributer cap and dry it out as best he could then it ran again. I am not sure what to do since it hasn't happened to me but someone in the off-roading board should know.
