Subject: 4.7 head portting?

I know KRC does some 4.7 head porting. Does anyone else do this? How much power can you expect to gain from it? Is it high end, low end, or all around? Sorry to ask so many questions about it, but I'm fairly new to performance tricks - I'm not even really sure what porting does to acomplish a power increase. Anyone care to tackle explaining that one?

Cotharyus,

I hope this link helps you out. Read it and it will kinda explain headporting. It has all around gains and if done correctely can get 20+ hp.

The info Yates gave you is right on the money!!! I eanted to add that flow honeing can also work wounders. Afer you port and polish your heads send them to be flow honed. They take a viscous abrasive and flow it through your heads at extremely high pressures. It will increase flow and does an excellent job. I have some friends that gasket match their intake manifold and blend the bowl area and send the heads and intake out for the flow honeing and they have all had great results. Alot of them buy after market heads and then do this.
