I wouldn't turn the key into start position with the truck running! Little hard on the starter, especially at 100mph.

From what i have read on here guys, there is a bypass on this from dodge, maybe a fluke thing? but the starter does not engage according to some posts here. Then this tricks the PCM and you can exceed the speed limiter. I have yet to try this, more so a little chicken.

Unless it has been changed from the factory, the starter only engages in park, nuetral, or in a manual, when the clutch is applied. (Nutral Safty Switch)

When you guys get in your pickups, and turn the key, where do you turn it... The Start Position!
Which in turn cranks the engine... How will that benifit you at 100 MPH?
Tim That would harm things I would think!?

QuickRacing, like I said, it'll only engage the starter in park or neutral. It's called a neutral safety switch. car manufacturers have had these on cars for years (many years) if these weren't on your vehicle, and you tried to start it in drive or reverse, it would drive on the starter until the motor started.
Think about it, how many times do you hold down the break when you start a car? you're in your garage, the night before you took out the key without putting it in park, the next day, you plan a family trip, (remind you car is still in gear) you hop in it and begin to start it, meanwhile your wife and toddler are directly in front of it, as you start it, what's it do....it runs down your family. It's a guaranteed way you won't kill someone unless your totally stupid or trying to.
try it, go out to your truck, engine not running, put it in gear (foot off the clutch if manual) and try and star it. The same thing happens while your driving. I see where you would be thinking this. you've probably heard or have even done it yourself, while it's in park, forget it's running and ckckckc so you think whenever it's running it'll engage the crank, but that's not the issue.
Alright I'm done typing, I hope you get my point.

a lot of our trucks are governed at 98mph (mines at 117) once the governor kicks in, I guess you turn the key to the start position and it turns off the circuit that runs the governor. So now it's up to the motor to reach top end. that's if your tires don't blow out.
