Hi, I have a question, I have a 2001 2wd 4.7 dak. and I tow a 12ft flat bed trailer with quads and camping gear. I need to know if anyone put some helper springs (overload springs) or airbags on and which ones u guys like? I do some offroading. I'm looking to trying to keep my truck level?

The roadmaster active suspention is supposed to work pretty good. Haven't tried it though.

I believe that the roadmaster active suspension is not designed to carry additional load, but to help reduce axle twist under acceleration.

I am also considering getting helper springs for my Dak to help with towing.
Ihave been looking at DrawTite, and Hellwig
progressive loading helper springs. I believe
that they are rated at about 1500 lbs.

Have you consudered an Easy-Lift hitch for load distribution? I believe that should level it up without affecting the ride like helper springs may.

A friend of mine had an Easy-Lift hitch on a 1/2-ton Ford F150 towing a 25' travel trailer. The back of his truck would hang down dramatically until after he bought and mounted the Easy-Lift. Leveled it right up.

I have helper springs on my Dakota 5.2L 2wd.
They are a really neat item and I like them alot.
I got mine through Midwest Wheel out of CedarRapids IA.
They actually lifted the truck 3 or so inches, which I was impressed with because I wanted it to sit up higher anyway. As far as the ride, nothing really changed, it actually drives tighter and handles better. Good luck with them.
