Sorry to piss on your MPG rant EBOLA, but the overhead console says 23 mpg avg while i am doing 60-65 on the state highways. Once i get on the interstate and do 70-75, it averages 20.5 mpg.

I have crunched the numbers on a calculator and it says the same thing.

Sorry about that, but here's a shovel of sh*t on top of your bullsh*t.

Squish.........

Susan,

I'm just telling you that I drove my 4.7 truck and beat three R/T's last Friday nite at the track. Then I got 23 mpg on the way home. That's all I'm sayin.

No Vipers, no snow cones. Just R/T's (plus a few 5.0 and 4.6 Mustangs, too).

As for 26 or even 36 mpg..... that is complete crap. Even downhill with a tail wind with the engine shut off. But 23 is well within reach.

Wow,

you guys are brutal, I cant speak for christopher but I have a pretty much the same truck but I have flowmaster exhaust on mine and thats it. I have raced a friend of mine that has a stock CC R/T and we are even most of the time. there have been times that i have beat him and times that he has beaten me. I do have one thing to say though is my friends R/T has the 3.92 and I have the 3.55 and the R/T has a faster off the line than my truck but I always catch up maybe 200yds later. I cant believe that just an upgraded exhaust is the difference.

Just wanted to put my two cents in

Alex, I didnt think your truck was stock?? If it is CONGRATS!
I dont question you beat RT's at the track. But do you always beat them in all conditions all the time or was this a first? My truck is a dog in bad conditions,Hot,Humid, One of those big Burritos from T-Bell
Man those really slow you down8-)

I have know idea about mpg but i think its silly that he rants and raves about beating RT's when its a fact that the RT is faster bone stock........

Nope. My truck's not stock. I listed the mods on the last page. I can't understand why anybody wants to keep a truck stock and then go race somebody else. If I race you & your truck is stock, sorry.

Remember Clint Eastwood in that last western he did? Gene Hackman yelled "You just shot an un-armed man!!" Clint squinted and said "Well, he should've armed himself."

And yeah, the air was crappy. My truck was running like a dog, too. That's why I only came hoem with a 14.96.......

Here's the one question the dino R/T punks have to ask themselves when they go up against the mighty modern 4.7L:

"You've got to ask yourself one question, do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?"

Re MPG----Lets clarify here...

If you are saying you got the overhead console to read 36 MPG at a MOMENT in time, I believe it... I have a 5.9 Jeep and can get the overhead console to read 50+ mpg... BUT this is just a snapshot in time. It can be done if you accelerate down hill, then take your foot off the pedal- The computer will calculate that you are travelling ~70 miles-per-hour AND using NOT throttle.... No biggie----

BUT to imply you averaged 36 mpg ON A WHOLE tank is insane...

you stated "my recent cross country trip from California to Florida and back to California was that at an average speed of 80-90mph on Interstate 40 I got an average 36MPG" ....

implies that you AVERAGED 36 mpg ALL THE WAY FROM FLORIDA TO CA... NEVER !!!

Hey Guys,
You sound like bunch of old ladies at a circle jerk...I would suggest you contact MOPAR tech line
they have been most helpful...I have a 94 Dakota
club cab 4 wheel drive with a 318 Automatic with a ton miles. Instead of getting a new truck I rebuilt with MOPARS help and added after the rebuild high performance heads, oversize valves, high intake manifold, aluminum push rods and rollers, 3 inch exhaust, headers, highstall
torque converter, all mopar and a K and N air cleaner...folks this truck flies, I have no idea what the horse power is...the milage dropped slightly, but I went from regualar to at least 92
...93 would be even better in octane....and its an
absolute joy to drive....I forgot to mention a high performance computer....and if you need parts
try Town and Country Dodge in Wilsonville Oregon,
Michael will not only give you a brake on the price but there is no sales tax......
