Now wait just a cotton pickin minute here... Of course the 4.7 generates power that is equivlent to that of larger engines... Thats the whole idea behind the OVH...

The fact remains though... how many crate 400 horse power 4.7's have I seen sitting in mopar catalog? Compared to How many 390+hp 360 crate motors I'v seen.

All the guy is wondering is why us 4.7 guys think were as high and mighty as the hemi. The 5.7 comes out and all of a sudden the hemi has actually been out since 98??

I own a 4.7 but I see where this Choppo guy is comming from.

I think the reality behind it is, you guys want to try to make everyone think that the 5.9 guys arent accepting the new engines into there world. In reality you 4.7 guys are having such a hard time accepting the fact that the 4.7 is going to be old news come 2003 you try to make it sound like the 4.7 is more than what it actually is.

P.S. A reminder too the 4.7 is alittle lacking in the torque department and thats where it counts the most guys. This comming from a guy who has owned both.

Big59er, I think you meant OHV...

You guys are all a bunch of dumbasses. 5.9 guys cant accept the fact that the OHC engines are the wave of the future, and 4.7 guys are pissy because they couldnt find an R/T and they had to settle with the 4.7.

Why cant I guy just ask a question without being badgered anymore? He just wanted to know why you guys thought your 4.7's were like Hemi's. Then you say stuff like he must have gotten beat by a 4.7!

If I had a Viper and I wondered why guys with Turbo 6 engines thought they had the power of a V8, or a V10 in the Vipers case, does that mean I'v gotten blown away off the line by a V6?

The bottom line is anything is possible, and in this case that isnt even relivent since he asked a simple question and got treated like an ass hole for it.

Man, almost makes me feel like crap calling myself a dak owner. If we cant treat fellow dak owners with respect how could you possibly expect a dak owner to treat anyone else with some courtasy?

First off I respect you guys as fellow Mopar lovers and Dak owners.
Next I got the 4.7 as I said for my wife....I can't imagine in a RT. Can you say Defensive driving? My wife has had her truck fro about two years and has already stacked up 5 speeding tickets OMG. I bought the 4.7 because it is technologically advanced for Dodge engines. The 5.9 is tried and true, but lets face it as far as production & sales goes technology puts buyers in the showrooms. The new hemi is going to be great for the company that we all love and we can all have pride in a company that can keep producing like Dodge has. I didn't want to come off pissy, I'm SORRY, but I don't feel the respect back when 5.9's tell me I bought the 4.7 because I could find/afford a RT. NOT THE CASE! The 5.9 will have a aftermarket life probably forever. It is a great engine platform and has been for years.
