Subject: cruise control won't work over 80MPH

Message:
The last 2 days I had to travel to Frankfurt (Germany). I wanted to set the cruise control at about 100 MPH but it didn't work. Is there a speed limit for the cruise control?

Something else you guys ought to know. If you leave you left blinker on while cruiseing the Autobahn you will notice that your turn signal will go off by itself even with lever still engauged. This is programmed into the one of the computers. To our service men overseas how are the breakes hold up to all of the high speed driveing??

So far the brakes are holding up well they have saved my A$$ a couple of times. I have the 4 wheel ABS and on the auto-bahn I don't think I could live without them. They do however seem to get a periodic glaze and sqeek a little, but once the speed increases and they get a good stab they will not sqeek for a while after that at low speed. I think the glazing happens at low speed. (like when my wife drives and rides the brakes for a block because she's scared of it)

My Dakota is a Canada Import, the speed limit is at about 185 kph. But the Dakota could easily run faster. To bad that there is a limit. On my Mercedes it was no problem to remove the 250kph limit.

Rgds.

That's ok as long as you understand.
KB may raise the speed limiter further on the R/T. If you need some place to order parts through I have an APO. Can you say no VAT.

APO?? - Does this mean you can order via U.S. Military Services?
This would - of course - be much, much cheaper! Especially due to I want to order a tonno-cover and later maybe a fiber hatchback (right word?)

Tim CH, yeah but you are limited in what parts you can order by the size of the item. I tried ordering a tonneau cover for my Dakota while I was in Korea and Jegs said it was too big. I did get one, but had to order it while on leave and send it to myself after squishing the box down some. For the US Post Office, the limit is 108 inches, combined in length, girth and width. Forget a fiberglass bed cover.
As for cruise control, it's always been that way for Chrysler products. It also doesn't set under 35 MPH.

He's correct about the available shipping size. Can't get no tonneau covers unless they are soft ones.

The Mopar PCM will allow you to set cruise at any speed. I've set mine over 120mph bfore just because I could. If you have a '98-'00 R/T, then you can get the Mopar computer. It will eliminate speed limiter, raise rev limiter to 6K RPM, raise shift points, changes air/fuel curve, advances timing, allows you to set cruise at any speed, and has a AC cutoff function anytime you go wide open throttle. The AC will turn off as long as you are at WOT.
