hey ya'll, tomorrow morn. me and my dad are goin to check out a 97 dak 4x4 V8, Im wonderin how much hp these are rated at, and how the transmisions hold up in them. its a good deal. can y'all be of ne assistance to my "?"......?

I special ordered one in oct '97
It's rated @ 230 HP With 300 Lb/Ft of torque
it's a Regular Cab and it'll smoke the tires with ease. I've taked good care of it. Still haven't had the chance to blow off a 4.7 yet. I'm hope'n by next spring, the dodge boys put a out a few with the new 5.7 HEMI.

I have a 97 5.2L 4X4 that I special ordered and have had no reliability problems with it. The only thing I had to have done was getting the front bumper repainted. I have had the truck off-road many times and never had a problem with lack of power. I am currently finishing up my mods but they are no needed, I just wanted them. As for the 5.7 HEMI I am hoping Dodge will put it in a car. I have no plans of getting rid of my truck but I would like to buy a nice new car in a few years. If I get stationed in Germany I will probably buy a BMW because I can save about $5,000 on the price and not pay taxes on it. A car with the new HEMI could change my mind though.

thanks y'all, we went and looked at it this morn. it has plenty of pow'r for me, and well, i love it. the only thing is the paint is slightly faded on the right rear of the bed, thats all, and a few minor scracthes here and there. i just might get it in the next week or two. cant hardly wait till i get a new'r truck. Its got a K&N Filter, how much HP does that add?

If it is the K&N FIPK and not just a drop in filter it is rated at 14-16 HP and 22 pd ft of torque according to truck performance. I have one installed and noticed a small difference but it helps out with MPG too.

The only complaint I had with my, 97' RC 4X4, was it was a dog. My 93 D150 would outrun it. I was disapointed in that truck. May have been a oddball though. Even with some basic mods it was still slow.

the KandN is a drop in filter, not the whole intake deal, y'all think a good waxin' will give back its shine? ne way, CW, thetruck u had, was it the 5.2V8? cause, this one is quick, i mean very quick. ne way, y'all think i should get it? lol, it aint yalls decision, but, im just askin, tty'all later.

I am not kidding this truck was pretty slow but like I say it may have been one of those ones that didn't run worth crap. It had a hard time breaking 16s on my friends G-tech but I think it may have been out of calibration. Drive it before hand if it is a good one take it. Mine was a '97 5.2 4X4 auto sport with 3.55 gears. It couldn't spin the 235 tires on decent pavment.
Traded in on this one it was more of what I wanted.

cool deal CW, this one has 31x10.50x15, i dont think it will have a hard time to brek 'em loose any day. thanks 4 the info. Im gonna go take another look at it this week and finally decide if its right for me, we'll, ttyl. O, how bout the paint, y'all think waxin will help?
