The number of bends are something to keep in mind with something like this. That's one reason I went with the K&N once I saw the design. I don't think I've never seen or heard of the airforce one. I know as an HVAC installer, one of the first things anyone taught me was that the more pipe you have coming from your blower, the less air you'll be able to feel, and every 90 degree bend was like adding an additional 10 feet to the length of your pipe. All that said, I'm quite happy with the K&N kit performance and sound wise, even when towing. I've pulled both of my trailers now (1160lb boat trailer and 1900lb mower trailer) and the truck does at least as well as it was doing before, and there is some improvement in gas milage. Oh yea, it is made out of plastic, but its not "cheap plastic" - and wally, everyone I asked everywhere - including all over these boards - knew that "towards the end of the summer" was the projected release date for the K&N kit for the 4.7.
