You should really check out the archives...do a search on each one of those things. They have been discussed almost to death.

Chip first, exhaust, intake. Get some other opinions also, but it worked best for me.
I have the '02 4.7 and the Kenne Bell Flash did wonders.

WEll What ive read is that you need a cold air intake, exaust and a 180t-stat for the stage 2 chip, i cant remember what brand it was but it said you need all that for it to work right. I guess it makes all that stuff work together and gives you a lot of power.

I would not suggest the Jet stage II, I bought that first and it resides on my desk at work for a paper weight. I sent my PCM to Kenne Bell and for about $350. they reflashed it and it ran great. I highly suggest opening up the exhaust and the intake, but is not needed right away to make a lot of difference. The 180 deg Robert Shaw T-stat is recomended at any time since it only cost about $8. Some AutoLite 3923's are about a buck a piece they help.
Good Luck,
Lynn

A 180 THERMOSTAT(t-stat) reduces the engine temp. The factory t-stat is a 195 Deg, for emissions reasons. The cooler the engine the denser the air the more fuel it will be able to accept and burn the more power it will develop.

I'm not qualified to answer that question in any way, but mine passes TEXAS emissions with the CATALYTIC converter replaced. I have the 180 t-stat and several other mods. I have the CAT off for daily driving and will put it back on when going back to the USA. After I pass re-entry inspection I will take it back off. We were suposed to go back to Texas from here in another 2 or 3 years but it looks like I will be going to Colorado in the next 3 Months :(
Good Luck,
Lynn

I would say to stay away from the jet chip. I had a stage II and it worked great initially. After about 6k miles I re-g-teched it and had no more gains. Took it out, re-set the computer andfelt no difference in power. The OBD II managed to learn around this one in my opinion. BTW I have a 200 4.7 5speed.
