To some it is called an Open Element Air Filter. I have one on my 91 5.2. They can either be cheap or they can be pricy. I picked mine up from a local parts store for $14.00. And stuck a K&N in it for $40.00. Just my $.02

check out

for more info regarding the round open-element filter you want.
i would stay away from this setup especially if you live in a hot part of the country. engines need and want COLD air. having an open-element filter will feed your engine warm or hot air which in turn will decrease your performance and may hurt it in the long run. i admit, its a nice looking setup but only if your not looking for performance and don't mind an annoying hissss coming from the engine.
i used to have an open-element on my 5.9 and hated it, i replaced it with a volant setup and it performed way, way better. if you don't want too spend to much on an intake and don't want to fabricate your own then check out intense performance. they have nice intakes for a lot cheaper than your k&n's and volants....

hope this helps
